It costs more than twice as much as the GT2, and the Carrera GT is available to a much smaller group of individuals. I've seen plenty of GT2's in my life, and I've only seen several Ferrari's and Lamborghini's on the road. The Carrera GT might be 'exotic,' but Porsche as a company is not 'exotic.' Even a company like Honda pulled off a 'supercar' like the NSX. It's like John said, owning a Porsche isn't as much of a status symbol as owning a Ferrari or Lamborghini. I mean the Boxter's cost less than a Z06.
